Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Edition Revealed With Just 50 Units To Be Produced
The Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Edition has been unveiled ahead of its debut. The Zenith Edition of the Rolls-Royce Ghost marks the 10th anniversary of the model. It can also be counted as the last hurrah for this generation as the all-new Rolls-Royce Ghost is expected to debut in 2020.
Among all the models that Rolls-Royce offers, the Ghost has to be one of the most iconic, after the Phantom of course. There are few cars that come close to a Rolls-Royce Ghost in terms of the outright display of opulence and exclusivity.
However, it seems like Rolls-Royce wanted to bring new meaning to the term ‘exclusive.' The legendary British luxury car manufacturer has revealed the Ghost Zenith Edition. The Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Edition celebrates 10 years of the Ghost's success in global markets. At the same time, it is the final edition of the current-generation model.
Just 50 units of the Zenith Edition will be produced before it gives way to the next-generation Rolls-Royce Ghost. The Rolls-Royce Ghost first made its debut as the Rolls-Royce 200EX Concept at the 2009 Geneva International Motor Show.
A month later, the Ghost name plate was revealed at the Shanghai International Auto Show. The production-ready car was finally showcased at few months later at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Rolls-Royce Ghost was designed to compete with the likes of the Bentley Flying Spur and top-spec variants of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, etc, since the Rolls-Royce Phantom was too big and expensive to do that.
The model received an update in 2014 and is now finally ready for the next-generation to step in. The Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Edition is the most bespoke edition of the car yet, allowing unprecedented levels of customisation on a Ghost. In terms of design, it remains untouched.
The Ghost Zenith Edition still comes with the evergreen styling that we have come to love over the last few years. It features the signature Rolls-Royce Grille up front, the LED headlamps with DRLs, exclusive alloy wheels and a dual-tone paint-job.
The Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Edition has been made available with several paint schemes, the notable ones being — Bohemian Red with Black Diamond, Iguazu Blue with Andalusian White and Premiere Silver with Arctic White.
The Spirit Of Ecstasy – the signature Rolls-Royce bonnet ornament - comes engraved with the words ‘Zenith Edition'. The interiors of a Rolls-Royce Ghost have always been made of the best materials and the Zenith Edition just betters it.
Perforated leather is found on almost all surfaces with parts of the dashboard and centre-console outlined in wood. There are badges at multiple places emphasizing on the fact that the car is ‘One of Fifty' limited edition.
The contrast leather seats feature embroidery that is a massive throwback to the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost from 1907. The haloed starlight headliner has been retained on the Zenith Edition.
In terms of powertrain, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Edition continues to be powered by a 6.6-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 engine. It produces a maximum power output of 562bhp and a peak torque output of 820Nm. An 8-speed automatic gearbox drives the rear wheels.
Thoughts On Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Edition Being Revealed
The Rolls-Royce Ghost has just turned 10-years-old and that has pushed Rolls-Royce to develop a next-gen model. However, the Zenith Edition makes it look so desirable and fresh that we honestly do not see the need for a next-gen model. Prices for the Zenith Edition have not been announced, but it is safe to say that it will be really expensive.
