Renault Triber Top Spec RxZ Variant Gets Bigger Wheels
Renault launched the seven-seater Triber a couple of months ago and is now offering top-of-the-line models with bigger tyres. The MPV's top-spec variant, the Triber RxZ now features 15-inch wheels, as compared to the 14-inch ones it had.
The all new, bigger wheels now arrive with 185/65 section tyres, as compared to the 165/80 section tyres it came with earlier. The wheels are still steel-type, and Renault will continue to offer the 14-inch originals as an optional. The upgrade has made the car dearer by Rs 4,000.
The Renault Triber offers 84 litres of boot space with the third row seats in place, and a massive 625 litres with the third row seats folded. Seating is can be configured in four modes — the seven-seater Tribe Mode, the five-seater Life Mode, the four-seater Surf Mode, and the two-seater Camp Mode.
The Renault Triber is offered in four variants — the RxE, the RxL, the RxT, and the RxZ. All variants are powered by a 1.0-litre, naturally-aspirated, 3-cylinder unit that produces 72bhp of power and 92Nm of torque.
The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Expectations are that the top-of-the-line RxZ variant will feature an automatic unit in the future. The Renault Triber is priced between Rs 4.95 lakh and Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The Triber is on its way to becoming one of Renault's best-sellers. Sales have already crossed the 10,000 units mark within 2 months of launch. The company sold 11,516 units last month, and this number has resulted in a 63 percent growth for the month of October 2019, compared to October 2018.
Renault is working towards making the Triber's engine BS-VI complaint, and is planning to launch it's BS-VI compliant line-up during the first quarter of next year. The company is currently trying to clear BS-IV stocks and is offering massive discounts (at dealer levels)on cars such as the Captur.
Thoughts About Larger Wheels On The Triber
Larger wheels equal more stability. Most of us who tested the Renault Triber felt that the vehicle was a little unstable at higher speeds. Larger wheels will definitely bring more stability to the Triber and reduce that excessive body roll.
