Renault Triber MPV Exports From India: 600 Units To South Africa
Mr Venkatram Mamillapalle, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director at Renault India, said that there are over 20,000 Renault Triber units on Indian roads, and that these numbers give them the confidence that it will be just as successful in potential foreign markets such as other African and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation nations.
The Renault Triber shares its underpinnings with the Kwid hatchback. Both vehicles are built on the company's CMF-A architecture, which is also seen on the Datsun Redi-GO.
The seven-seater segment has been growing rapidly over the years and most manufacturers have launched multi passenger vehicles to meet consumer demands. While the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the most popular MPV, the Triber is placed at a price segment below it.
The Renault Triber features a large front grille, projector headlamps with integrated turn signal indicators, LED DRLs, and sleek tail lights. The MPV features a large central air dam, and 14-inch dual-tone wheels.
The interiors feature a black and beige treatment with silver accents on the dashboard. The Triber arrives with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and LED instrument cluster, a cooled storage space, a smart access key card, and air-conditioning vents for the second and third row seats.
The Renault Triber arrives with a single engine choice - a 1.0-litre three-cylinder, BS4 petrol engine that produces 72bhp of power and 96Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission only.
A BS6 compliant engine is expected to be launch in early 2020, and the company is also working on an automatic transmission unit for the Triber. The current-generation Renault Triber MPV is priced between Rs 4.95 lakh and Rs 6.63 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Thoughts About The Renault Exporting The Triber MPV To South Africa
The Triber MPV is possibly Renault's best selling car in the country. Exporting a particular model only means that the model is a domestic success and the vehicle has potential to do well in similar markets. Good for Renault. We hope the Triber does well in South Africa.
