The 2020 Renault that was spotted leaves little to imagination. The SUV looks exactly like the current-generation Renault Duster that sells in India. The second-generation Duster that is sold in foreign markets is a completely different model.

As is, the second-generation has not been launched in the country, and the company has not issued a statement about possible launch dates. The all-new Duster that is expected to launch at some point during February 2020 will be available in petrol variants only.

Renault India said earlier that it would discontinue its diesel offerings once the new BS-VI norm were in effect. However, the company has multiple petrol engine options that it could offer.

The current-generation's 1.5-litre petrol engine is expected to be one of the engine options on the 2020 Renault Duster. The engine currently produces 105bhp of power and 142Nm of torque.

In addition, Renault could offer one or both engines that feature on its Duster that sells in international markets. One is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine that produces 98bhp of power and 160Nm of torque, and the other is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit that produces between 113bhp & 158bhp of power (variant specific), and 270Nm of torque.

Rumors are that the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will replace the current-generation's 1.5-litre unit. This engine is also expected to be featured on the company's Captur and Lodgy models. In addition, the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine could replace the current diesel mill. Transmission options will include a manual and an automatic.

The current generation Renault Duster is priced between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Thoughts About The 2020 Renault Duster

Renault has been slowly changing its plans for India and it trying to keep its high selling models at the forefront. While there is no information about engines on offer, we're sure the company will do justice and that the BS-VI compliant models will do as well the Duster at launch.
