Porsche’s Electric Vehicle Taycan Launching In India In 2020 — Has The Electric Revolution Begun?
All the heavyweights of the automotive industry seem to be bringing their electric vehicle range to Indian shores within a two year time-frame. The latest heavyweight to join the bandwagon is Porsche. Porsche senses a move towards environmentally friendly vehicles in the luxury car segments. Marking a movement towards the Eco-friendly, Porsche has launched hybrid power-trains with the Cayenne and the Panamera. And now, Porsche is launching one of their fully-electric vehicles - the Porsche Taycan.
Porsche's plan is to launch the Porsche Taycan during the first quarter of 2020. They're aiming for a March launch of the first of many electric vehicles in their fleet. Porsche claims the Taycan can go a full 500 kilometers and can be driven for between 7, and 10 days within a city. They also say the 800-volt architecture means the car will have enough juice to drive 100 kilometers with charging for just four minutes. Blessed by Thor!
Porsche will launch four products in India over the next three quarters with the aim to recover from a fairly average sales performance in 2018. Sales figures dropped 20% from the previous year as Porsche did not have the Cayenne on it's sales lists. The Cayenne made up for almost 46% to total sales from January to July 2017.
Porsche currently offers the Macan, the Porsche 718, the Porsche Cayenne, the Porsche 911, and the Panamera. These beauties are priced between Rs 71.15 lakh and Rs 3.88 cores.
