The new Mahindra Thar will however, come with just one diesel engine option in the form of a 2.0-litre unit. This engine will also comply with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms of April 2020. Mahindra will also use the same engine for its next-generation XUV500; replacing the current 2.2-litre mhawk unit.

Thoughts On The New Mahindra Thar

The Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular and capable off-roaders in the Indian market. The Thar has been on sale in the Indian market for quite a while, although it hasn't received any major or significant update over the years. The new 2020 Mahindra Thar will come prepared for both the upcoming crash test norms as well as the emission norms. Once launched in India, the new Mahindra Thar will continue to rival the likes of the Force Gurkha Xtreme.
