Bajaj is launching the Qute quadricycle in a phased manner across the country. The Qute is the first quadricycle to go on sale in India and bridges the gap between three-wheeler (auto rickshaws) and four-wheeler cars in the market. Bajaj also hopes that the Qute will soon replace auto rickshaws completely as well.

The Bajaj Qute is slightly larger than conventional three-wheelers in the Indian market. Measuring 2,750mm in length, 1,312mm in width and 1,652mm in height. The Bajaj Qute offers a functional design, with a good amount of features. These include dual headlamps with integrated turn signals, plastic bumper cladding, single wiper for the windshield. The Bajaj Qute runs on 12-inch steel wheels.

Inside, the cabin is minimalistic, with seating capacity best suited for three passengers and the driver. It comes with analogue speedometer, basic steering wheel and a decent-sized storage compartment.

The Bajaj Qute petrol variant is powered 216cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 13bhp and 18.9Nm of torque; mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Qute CNG, on the other hand, is powered by the same 216cc engine, however, the CNG churns out 10.8bhp and 16.1Nm of torque, again mated to the same five-speed manual gearbox.

The Bajaj Qute is the smallest production four-wheeler sold in the Indian market. The Qute quadricycle weighs in at just 452kg and has a turning radius of 3.5-metre. The Bajaj Qute petrol is said to offer a mileage of 35km/l while the CNG variant returns a mileage of 43km/kg.

Thoughts On The Bajaj Qute Quadricycle Launch In Maharashtra

Maharashtra is the fifth state in India to receive the new Quadricycle after Rajasthan, Kerala, UP and Odisha. Bajaj expects large volume sales of the Qute in the Indian market, especially the CNG variant. At the price range, the Bajaj Qute is almost a lakh costlier than the three-wheelers, however, it does offer a much safer way to travel.
