MG ZS EV Buyers Are Offered Free Fast Charging For A Limited Period In India

MG Motor India has announced, that the ZS EV buyers will be offered with free fast charging for a limited period in India. The MG ZS EV is slated to be unveiled in India on December 5, 2019.

Ahead of the unveiling, the company has confirmed to offer free fast charging initially, to support the EV buyers in the country. According to the reports from Autocar India, the company will set-up fast charging stations in five cities at first, and aims to expand the reach in a phase-wise manner across the country. The list of cities include Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.

MG Motor India, has tied up with many local and international manufacturers to offer charging solutions to the ZS EV buyers. The company, has partnered with Fortum, Delta Electronics and eChargeBays, offering fast, normal, and house charging infrastructure. MG Motor is making sure that ZS EV buyers are offered with maximum support and charging options.

Ahead of the MG ZS EV (eZS) launch in India, the India-bound model is confirmed to be equipped with a PM 2.5 air filter, offering a clean air inside the cabin for the occupants. It will also be equipped with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a multi-information display placed in the instrument cluster, a drive mode selector, climate control stack, a push button start/stop feature, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted control.

The eZS SUV will be powered by a 45.6kWh battery pack paired to an electric motor producing a maximum power output of 148bhp, and 350Nm torque. The global-spec models of the ZS EV feature a driving range of about 428 kilometres on a single charge. When connected to a fast charger, electric SUV takes 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 per cent. We expect the figures to remain the same with the India-bound model as well.

The exterior of the eZS is expected to remain the same as global-spec model of the SUV. This includes MG's star-rider grille, LED DRLs with projector headlamps, heated external rear-view mirrors, roof rails, LED tail-lamps; among others. On the inside, It is also expected to feature MG's ‘i-Smart' AI enabled technology as well.

Other features on the global-model that will be carried on the India-bound model include, a rear parking camera, a navigation system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and heated seats on the front row with a six-way power adjustable driver seat.

The Hector SUV has managed to register impressive sales numbers for the company, making MG's entry to the Indian market, a blockbuster hit. We also expect the company to introduce more products to the Indian market soon.
