Maruti Suzuki Eeco Becomes Safer: Receives A Price Increase
Indian auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki, has updated their popular people carrier with increased pricing. The Eeco people carrier now becomes new crash test complaint which came into effect from October 1, 2019.
Maruti Eeco has undergone structural changes to accommodate the new crash test norms, making it safer and impact resistant. Because of the safety upgrade the MPV has received a slight increase in the pricing.
The price of the new model is increased between Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 depending on the variant. The Eeco MPV is offered in a five-seater and a seven-seater configuration and are priced between Rs 3.61 lakh to Rs 6.61 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (India).
Maruti Eeco continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 72bhp of power and 101Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a standard five-speed transmission gearbox with power sent to the rear wheels.
Maruti also offers Eeco with a factory-fitted CNG option as well. The engine in CNG mode produces 62bhp of power and 85Nm of torque. Eeco MPV returns an ARAI-rated 15.37kp/l for the petrol variant and 21.94km/kg on the CNG.
With the last revision the MPV was updated with many standard safety equipment from the company. The safety net on the Eeco include a standard-fit driver-side airbag, ABS and rear parking sensors. The interiors of the Eeco features are very basic with air conditioning controls placed at the middle of the dashboard.
The MPV also misses out on an infotainment system, however, Maruti is expected to introduce a new BS-VI compliant model with updated interiors with added features to make for a pleasant cabin feel — here are all the details.
Maruti is also offering their MPV with attractive festive offer this season. Customers can avail benefits of up to Rs 50,000 for the seven-seater variant and Rs 40,000 for the five-seater variant with a cash discount of Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively. The MPV is also offered with exchange bonus of Rs 20,000 and corporate discount of Rs 5,000 as well.
Thoughts About The Maruti Suzuki Eeco Price Increased
The MPV was first introduced in 2010, which succeeded the company's Versa MPV. Unlike the Versa, the Eeco has managed to gain popularity with registering 5,00,000 units sold over the span of nine years. However, the revised crash protection is a welcome addition to the MPV, although Eeco is a need of a major overhaul from the company.
