Maruti Suzuki Sales Register A Growth During Festive Season: Clocks 1.53 Lakh Units Of Sales
Maruti Suzuki car sales in India for the month of October 2019 has been released. The recently released sales report showcases Maruti Suzuki sales registering a growth of 4.5% in the market in the previous month.
According to reports, Maruti Suzuki has sold 1.53 lakh units of their products in India in the previous month. This total sales volume includes 1.41 lakh units in the domestic market, while the remaining coming from exports and domestic OEM sales. The export sales registered 9,158 units of sales, while the domestic OEM sales came in at 2,727 units last month.
Among all the products on offer from Maruti Suzuki, their UV segment registered the highest sales growth of 11.3%. This UV segment includes the likes of the Vitara Brezza, Ertiga MPV, XL6 premium MPV and the S-Cross offerings.
According to Maruti Suzuki, the higher sales in the previous month was mainly due to the festive season, including Dhanteras and Diwali. This along with the varied discounts and season benefits offered across the model range have helped Maruti improve its sales in India.
The company recently launched the updated version of the Eeco MPV, which is now compliant with the latest crash test norms in India. The company also introduced the Ertiga Tour diesel in the Indian market last month.
However, the main launch for the company in the previous month was the Maruti S-Presso hatchback. The S-Presso is the latest model from the brand in the Indian market. The hatchback has already received an extremely positive response in India, registering 10,000 units of bookings within the first two months.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is also the first product from the brand to receive a BS-VI compliant 1.0-litre petrol engine. This is the updated version of the engine powering the Alto K10, which indicates an update to entry-level hatchback very soon as well.
The new 1.0-litre BS-VI compliant petrol engine on the Maruti S-Presso produces the same power output as the previous version. This includes 67bhp and 90Nm of torque; mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. There is also an AMT version available on the S-Presso as well.
Thoughts On The Maruti Car Sales In India For October
With the automotive industry facing a consistent slowdown in sales since the start of 2019. It is refreshing to see Maruti Suzuki finally register a growth, especially after consistently facing huge declines month-on-month. Maruti Suzuki will be hoping to continue this growth trend in the coming months as well.
