Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS Receives Rs 1 Lakh Price Cut: Now Priced At Rs 7.89 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki has reduced the prices of its Baleno RS in India. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is now available at Rs 7.89 lakh, ex-showroom; a reduction of Rs 1 lakh from its previous price.
The reduction in prices of the Baleno RS is said to allow the company to improve sales of the hot-hatch version of the Baleno. We also expect the price reduction to be part of a clearing sale, ahead of the BS-VI implementation.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS comes with a more powerful 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine. It produces 102bhp and 150Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The engine is still compliant with the current BS-IV emission norms. Maruti Suzuki is yet to make a decision on whether the 1.0-litre petrol engine will be upgraded to the BS-VI norms or not.
Apart from the different engine, Maruti Baleno RS also comes with a number of cosmetic changes over the standard variants. This includes different bumpers at the front and rear, 'RS' badging on the rear, different alloy wheel design and a red paint scheme, available exclusively for the RS version.
Inside as well, Maruti Baleno RS comes with a sportier-looking cabin and receives all the same equipment and features as on the standard top-spec variant of the premium hatchback.
Apart from the Baleno RS, Maruti Suzuki recently announced a price cut of Rs 5000 on a number of its other popular models as well. The reduction in prices comes after the recent corporate tax cuts in the Indian market, which has allowed the company to pass on the benefits to its customers.
Maruti Suzuki has reduced prices of models such as the Swift, Baleno, Ignis, Vitara Brezza, Dzire, S-Cross and the Tour S by Rs 5,000. The price cut will be implemented on the ex-showroom amounts of the specified models, over and above the discounts and benefits on offer from Maruti Suzuki — here are all the details.
Thoughts On The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS Price Cut
The price cut on the Baleno RS variant comes after the recent corporate tax reduction by the government. The tax reduction is aimed to boost sales of auto brands in India, during the slowdown, which has affected sales from the past 10 months.
