Mahindra XUV300 Vs Vitara Brezza Comparison: Here are the key differences between the XUV300 and the Maruti Vitara Brezza in terms of mileage, prices, engine specifications, features and more.
Mahindra recently launched the XUV300 in the Indian market. The new Mahindra XUV300 comes with a starting price of Rs 7.90 lakh, ex-showroom (India). The latest entrant to the sub-four-metre SUV segment offers a number of features (few segment-firsts) and is available in four trim levels.
The Mahindra XUV300 directly rivals the segment-leader, the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Introduced a couple of years ago in the Indian market, the Vitara Brezza has become one of the most popular product in the segment.
Here is a detailed comparison between the Mahindra XUV300 and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
Design:
Starting from the latest entrant, the Mahindra XUV300; the SUV comes with a completely fresh design, compared to any other model from the brand. However, it does borrow certain design cues from its bigger sibling, the XUV500. The chrome-studded front grille, with the projector headlamps and LED DRLs extending to the front bumper, give it a stylish look. The boxy design with the blacked-out pillars and the character lines along the wheel arches further accentuate the SUV design.
The interior of the XUV300 comes with a dual-tone cabin, offering a premium upmarket feel to the compact-SUV.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza, on the other hand, also offers the same boxy SUV-stance. The large 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome accents all-around and the prominent shoulder lines further accentuate the look of the Vitara Brezza. Interiors of the Vitara Brezza is similar to most other Maruti products; featuring an all-black cabin.

The dimensions of both; Mahindra XUV300 and Maruti Vitara Brezza is almost the same. The Mahindra XUV300 though does offer the longest wheelbase in its class, improving additional space in the cabin.

Engine Specifications:
The Mahindra XUV300 is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. This includes 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. The turbo-petrol engine produces 110bhp and 200Nm of torque.
The diesel engine is the same unit as seen on the Mahindra Marazzo. Both engines come mated to a standard six-speed manual, without the option of an automatic. However, Mahindra is testing its automatic transmission, which is expected to be introduced within the next few months.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza, on the other hand, is available in a single 1.3-litre diesel option. This is the same engine, which powers most of the Maruti Suzuki diesel products. The engine is mated to either a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox.

The Mahindra XUV300 comes with a host of features and equipment on all its four trims. It also offers a few segment-first features such as front parking sensors, heated ORVMs, smart steering system and disc brakes on all four ends. Other features include, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, rear parking camera with a dynamic assist, auto-dimming IRVM, push button start/stop, seven airbags (top-spec only) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts; among a host of others.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza also comes loaded with a number of similar features. This includes automatic headlamps, cruise control, push-button start/stop, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ABS with EBD, multiple airbags and number of others.

Mahindra has priced the XUV300 in the market, extremely competitively. The prices for the Mahindra XUV300 start at Rs 7.90 lakh for the base variant while the top-spec trim is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh. This makes it costlier than the Vitara Brezza; prices for which start at Rs 7.67 lakh and goes up all the way till Rs 10.64 for the diesel AMT variant. All prices are ex-showroom.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza has been one of the best-selling SUVs in the sub-four-metre segment. The Vitara Brezza offers a number of features and equipment, including an AMT, for an extremely competitive price. However, with the arrival of the XUV300 in the Indian market, the Vitara Brezza finally will have formidable competition in the market. It will be interesting to see how the XUV300 will fare, more so with the arrival of the AMT version soon.
