Mahindra XUV300 Recalled In India Over A Faulty Suspension Component: Here Are The Details

Mahindra has issued a recall of its compact-SUV, the XUV300 in the Indian market. According to the company, a limited batch of Mahindra XUV300s manufactured before 19th May 2019 have been recalled over a faulty suspension component.

M&M stated in a regulatory filing that all affected cars will be called in for inspection and replacement. The company will replace the faulty suspension component free of cost to the customers. Mahindra hasn't announced the exact number of cars affected, although they have mentioned that each of the customers will be called individually.

The Mahindra XUV300 was launched in India last year and since then has performed really well in the market. The XUV300 positioned in the competitive compact-SUV segment rivals the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon.

The Mahindra XUV300 offers a host of features, along with strong performance figures; making it an extremely attractive offering. The SUV is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. It produces 110bhp and 200Nm of peak torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The company also offers the XUV300 with a 1.5-litre diesel engine option, borrowed from the Marazzo MPV. This engine churns out 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. The diesel engine is mated to either a six-speed manual or an AMT automatic transmission.

The XUV300 also offers a host of features, both inside and out. This includes LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, rear AC vents, driving modes and a host of other equipment as well.

Mahindra recently also announced a total decline of 11% in sales for the month of October 2019. The company managed to register sales of 51,896 units in the last month; as compared to 58,416 units during October 2018.

In terms of passenger vehicles sales, Mahindra registered a higher 23% decline with 18,460 units of sales in October 2019, against 24,066 during the same period in 2018.
