New Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI Model Spied Testing — Launch-Expected Soon

Mahindra is said to be working on a BS-VI compliant model of their recently launched compact SUV offering, the XUV300. The BS-VI compliant Mahindra XUV300 has been spotted testing for the first time in the Indian market.

As seen from the spy pics from Motor Vikatan, the new Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI model can be seen with a temporary registration plate, on the streets of Chennai. The only noticeable way to recognise the BS-VI test mule is the stickering on the fuel cap.

However, there is currently no information whether the spied test mule is the petrol or diesel variant. The petrol is available in the form of a 1.2-litre offering while the diesel comes in the form of a 1.5-litre unit. What we do know, however, is that both engines are expected to receive the BS-VI update ahead of the upcoming emission deadline of April 2020.

The 1.2-litre petrol engine on the Mahindra XUV300 produces 112bhp and 200Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine on the other hand, churns out 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. Mahindra is currently working on an automatic transmission as well, which is expected to be introduced soon. The AMT will however, increase prices of the XUV300 by around Rs 50,000, ex-showroom.

The Mahindra XUV300 will also get an electric version in the Indian market soon. The Mahindra XUV300 electric is said to be unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. Mahindra has confirmed the electric version of the XUV300, with the car already spied testing on multiple occasions.

The Mahindra XUV300 is currently the second best-selling car in the Indian compact-SUV segment. The car has been a big success for the brand in the Indian market, with over 26,000 bookings within the first three months of launch.

Thoughts On The Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI Model
