Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI Was Spotted Testing In Delhi
Recently, the Mahindra XUV300 was spotted testing by GaadiWaddi. The compact SUV will now get a BS-VI compliant petrol engine.
This will make it the first car from Mahindra's portfolio to comply with the updated emission norms. The camouflaged test mule of the updated compact SUV was spied testing in Delhi-NCR.
The BS-VI XUV300 is expected to launch during the festive season this year. However, the car's diesel variant might also get updated to meet the stricter norms and will be available by the end of 2019 only.
Since the car was spotted testing in a camouflaged test mule, it is very hard to spot the difference. But, the car is likely to get cosmetic updates also. The BS-VI version of the Mahindra XUV300 will be slightly costlier than the outgoing model. This car might also feature an upgraded software and a new exhaust system.
The Mahindra XUV300 was launched in India earlier this year both with petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged unit. The engine pumps out 110bhp and 200Nm of peak torque.
On the other hand, the diesel engine is the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo one, which is also seen in the Marazzo. It churns out 115bhp and 300Nm of peak torque. According to Mahindra, both the engines will be converted to comply with the upcoming emission norms.
Mahindra has not yet given a word on the pricing of the new XUV 300, but we believe that it would carry a price tag of Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 more than the outgoing version.
At the moment, the XUV300 is on sale in a price range of Rs 8.1-12.69 lakh ex-showroom (Gurgaon). Along with the new XUV300, the new Mahindra TUV300 BS-VI facelift model was also spied testing on our roads.
Thoughts On The XUV300 BS-VI Variant
Mahindra is working really hard on updating a bunch of its models for the Indian market so that the vehicles comply with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms. Apart from the XUV300, the compact-SUV version (TUV300) is also expected to receive similar updates very soon.
