Mahindra XUV300 Bookings Cross 13,000 In Its First Month — Waiting Period Increases To Three Weeks

Mahindra XUV300 bookings crosses 13,000 unit mark, in its first month of sales. The dealers also confirmed that waiting period has now risen to three weeks.

Mahindra XUV300 bookings cross 13,000 units, within its first month of sales. The Mahindra XUV300 launched in India on the 14th February 2019 with a starting price of Rs 7.90 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).

Mahindra dealers have also confirmed that the waiting period of the XUV300 compact-SUV has now risen to three weeks. The Mahindra XUV300 is available in a range of four trims and eight variants — W4, W6, W8 and W8 OPT; each with two engine configurations.

The Mahindra XUV300 is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine units. The 1.2-litre petrol produces 110bhp and 200Nm of peak torque while th 1.5-litre churns out 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. Mahindra is currently testing out the AMT version of the XUV300; slated to be introduced in the market in the coming months.

Mahindra also claims that the XUV300 has already entered the top-three in the compact-SUV segment in India. It also claims that the compact-SUV segment in India accounts to over 40 per cent of the total SUV industry in the country.

Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales & Marketing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, stated:

"We are extremely happy with the overwhelming response to the XUV300. In a highly competitive segment such as the Compact SUV, we have received over 13,000 bookings and in the very first month itself, we have entered into the top 3. This is in-line with our objective of achieving 15 to 20% share of this segment and reaffirms the fact that the XUV300 proposition has resonated well with the customers. What is also encouraging is that over 75% of our bookings are for the top end variants of the XUV300."

The Mahindra XUV300 is part of the same platform, which underpins the Ssangyong Tivoli. However, it has been modified to place the XUV300 in th sub-four-metre segment. Thoughts On The Mahindra XUV300 Bookings

Mahindra XUV300 was one of the much-anticipated launches from the brand in the market. It offers stiff competition to its rivals in India, which include the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport.
