Mahindra Electric Receives EV Development Support From Dassault Systemes
Mahindra Electric Mobility has joined hands with Dassault Systemes to accelerate their EV (Electric Vehicle) model development. Mahindra Electric is using Dassault's 'Simulia' software which is powered by the '3DEXPERIENCE' platform for realistic simulation in a virtual environment.
Mahindra Electric will be aiming towards innovation efficiency by using digital simulations for all existing electric vehicles in the company's line-up. The French software giant, Dassault Systemes announced the deployment of ‘Simulia' software by Mahindra Electric Group, at 3DEXPERIENCE Forum, 2019.
The electric mobility division of Mahindra & Mahindra Group, has successfully performed the complete thermal, structural, electromagnetic interference, electromagnetic compatibility of critical parts like battery enclosures, battery management systems using ‘Simulia' application.
The ‘Simulia' application enables the manufacturer to test the components used in electric vehicles with a unique ‘3DEXPERIENCE' platform in real-time virtual environment. This enables the companies to gather more data before they start development with physical prototype.
Mahesh Babu, CEO, Mahindra Electric Mobility said,
"Electric vehicles are now mainstream, from two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars, commercial vehicles the electric mobility revolution has received a significant push and the industry is poised for big growth."
"Technology will play a crucial role in developing the EV ecosystem including in design, simulation, manufacturing and developing the overall vehicle cycle. We at Mahindra Electric have deployed the right digital and simulation tools to drive this collaborative electric journey coherently in the company."
The development of electric vehicle components involves, analyzing of emissions radiated while testing PCB and wiring harness is critical at early stages. Identifying and rectifying risks in physical condition could be very costly.
However, employing such software to test in virtual conditions could be easy and risk-free. Industries believe such testing is required in the automotive industry, as compliance with industry regulations.
India is moving towards electric mobility at a good pace, with the use of software like Simulia, the innovation, and development of products and its features becomes easier. This will include range, charging times, and life of the battery as well.
Samson Khaou, Managing Director, India, Dassault Systèmes said,
"We are aligned with the country's mission for a sustainable and green mobility landscape. EVs are certainly a way forward and we are geared up to address the EV requirements with our portfolio of Industry Solution Experiences based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to address each of the segments- OEMs, suppliers and start-ups in the automotive industry.
"The top EV makers across the world rely on our design, simulation, and manufacturing, project management tools for the development of EVs and for marketing them to consumers."
Thoughts About The Mahindra Electric Mobility Using Simulia Software From Dassault Systemes
The development of an electric vehicle will involve over hours and hours of testing as it is an emerging technology. With the help of Simulia software from Dassault Systemes, Mahindra is sure to make a great impact in the electric mobility soon.
