Mahindra Bolero ABS Launched — Bookings Officially Open Online And Via Dealers
Mahindra has quietly been updated their best-selling vehicle - the Bolero. There are new safety norms in place now, and all four wheelers in India have to feature ABS, a driver-side airbag, over-speeding alarms, rear parking sensors, and seat belt reminders for the driver and co-driver. Mahindra has upgraded the Bolero with all these features and has launched the new upgraded Bolero. The company has started taking bookings via it's website and via it's network of dealers.
While the Mahindra Bolero ABS was spotted at a dealership earlier this year, this is the first time that Mahindra has listed the vehicle on it's website. Mahindra has not revealed a price for the vehicle but we expect it to be pricier than the older model, thanks to the upgrades in the safety features of the car.
Mahindra will also launch a new version of the Bolero that will meet the upcoming BNVSAP safety norms in the Indian market. The vehicle will also feature an all-new BS-VI complaint engine. BS-VI emission norms will be in effect starting 1 April 2020, and the new safety regulations will come in to effect from October this year. The company will continue to retail the current version until then.
The company will make no change to the features and engine options for the Bolero. Mahindra launched a shorter version of the Bolero some time ago to take advantage of the sub 4.0-meter tax slabs. Rumor has it that the regular sized Bolero will be taken off the shelf completely leaving only the sub 4.0-meter variant on sale.
The Mahindra Bolero was at one point, the largest selling utility vehicle in the Indian market. However, the popularity of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was too much to handle, and soon the Brezza became the highest selling utility vehicle.
The Bolero continues to be Mahindra's bestseller in the Indian markets. The regular sized Bolero features a 2.5-litre DI engine that produces 63bhp of power and 195Nm of torque. The Bolero Power Plus features a 1.5-litre engine that produces 70bhp of power and 195Nm of torque.
The Mahindra Bolero that is currently available is priced between Rs 7.56 lakh and Rs 9.42 lakh, ex-showroom (India).
Thoughts About The 2019 Bolero ABS Going On Sale
Mahindra usually works very quietly when upgrading their cars. They don't show off which is something we like very much. We're impressed that Mahindra upgraded the safety features on the car this fast, as we hope that the Bolero takes back it's 'bestseller in the country' title.
