Lamborghini Huracan Evo Unveiled — Top Speed Above 325km/h; India-Launch To Happen Soon

The new Lamborghini Huracan Evo has been officially revealed and 'Lambo fans' are already excited. With a top speed of more than 325km/h, the more powerful iteration of the V10 Lamborghini supercar borrows a lot from the top-of-the-line Lamborghini Huracan Performante; taking aerodynamics as a key priority.

The aesthetic enhancements are rather subtle to the eye, but help a lot in guiding and deflecting air, through and around the car. The Ypsilon (Y-shaped) design features reflect the Italian brand's modern-day styling philosophy and certainly bring new life to the near-five-year-old supercar.

At the rear, the Huracan Evo gets an integrated wing (duck-tail spoiler) and twin-exhausts peeping out; thus making a huge impact on visual appeal. The diffuser is even more aggressive and forms the end of a near-plain (minimal drag) underbody.

The new Huracan Evo rides on 20-inch five-spoke wheels that also carry the Ypsilon design theme. As cool as it sounds, the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) system takes control of the overall dynamics — lateral acceleration, roll, pitch, yaw, real-time driving behaviour; included. The magnetorheological dampers, on the other hand, ensure that the Huracan Evo rides planted, especially at sharp corners.

Coming to the specifications, the new Lamborghini Huracan Evo is powered by the same 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine, but re-engineered to churn out 640bhp and 600Nm of torque. This is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which sends the output to all four wheels, with the added luxury of torque-vectoring. Rear-wheel-steering is also part of the package.

Weighing just 1422kg without any fluids, the Huracan Evo can do 0-100km/h sprint in just 2.9 seconds and 0-200km/h in an impressive nine seconds. This is certainly an improvement from the existing Huracan models, as the Evo inches towards the Performante territory.

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo is priced at roughly Rs 1.50 crore in foreign markets and is expected to launch in India by April 2019, at around Rs 3.75 crore ex-showroom. Once launched, it will rival the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Ferrari 488 GTB, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and its Volkswagen-sibling, the Audi R8 V10 Plus.

Thoughts On The Lamborghini Huracan Evo

The new Huracan Evo is a welcome improvement to the popular supercar. It brings some much-needed updates, including a new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, in the age of turbocharged and electrified power plants, it is good to see that Lamborghini has still opted the naturally-aspirated way.
