Verdict

The Hyundai Venue is the latest entrant in the highly competitive compact-SUV segment in the Indian market. However, this does offer it advantages over some of its rivals in the segment. The Venue comes with all the latest bells and whistle, while also featuring the latest design language, making it an extremely attractive package.

The Ford EcoSport combines performance with efficiency and is the sportiest SUV of the lot. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine on the top-spec 'S' variant is the icing on the cake with the blacked-out elements which add a new dimension to the sporty compact-SUV.

The Tata Nexon is the safest bet among the three competitors. It offers a subtle design, which combines sportiness with leisure. The USP of the Tata Nexon however, is that it has the title of being the safest SUV in the segment, receiving a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests.
