Hyundai Venue Could Receive A Sporty ‘N Line’ Version — Not For India Though!
Hyundai is likely to introduce a sporty version of the Venue in international markets. The Hyundai Venue N Line will be the SUV's top-spec variant in international markets such as the US and Australia.
The Sporty version of the Hyundai Venue will come with a number of sporty cosmetic changes compared to the standard model, both to its interior and exterior. The Hyundai Venue will however carry forward the same powertrain as the standard variant.
According to Autocar India, there is also reports suggesting that Hyundai could be working on a Venue N Performance model. This variant of the Hyundai Venue will be offered with a more powerful engine and an updated sportier suspension. However, this is yet to be confirmed by the Korean brand.
If the Hyundai Venue does get a sporty treatment, it will be for the International markets only. The US-spec Hyundai Venue is powered by a larger 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 123bhp mated to either a six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission.
The Indian-spec Hyundai Venue, on the other hand, comes with a smaller 1.2-litre petrol producing 83bhp and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine churning out 120bhp. Both engines will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox while the 1.0-litre petrol will also get the optional seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox as well. The Indian-spec Venue SUV will also be offered with a 1.4-litre diesel engine; the same engine which does duty on the Hyundai Creta.
The Hyundai Venue was unveiled earlier this month in India and is scheduled to launch on the 21st May 2019. Bookings for the compact-SUV will officially begin from the 2nd May, although certain dealers have started accepting booking for an amount of Rs 50,000.
The Hyundai Venue will be positioned below the popular Creta offering and is the first compact-SUV offering from the Korean brand in the country. Hyundai expects high demand for the Venue in the Indian market right from the start and hence already have a production capacity of 9,000 models per month for the SUV.
Thoughts On The Hyundai Venue N Line
Hyundai will not introduce the Venue N Line in the Indian market anytime soon. If confirmed it will be on sale in international markets, such as the US and Australia. The standard Venue though once launched in India will rival the likes of the segment leader Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport. The Hyundai Venue is expected to be priced at around Rs 8 lakh, ex-showroom range.
