Hyundai Venue Starts Arriving At Dealerships A Week Ahead Of Its Launch In India

Hyundai Motors is all set to launch its much-awaited compact-SUV, the Venue in the Indian market. The Hyundai Venue is scheduled to launch in the Indian market on the 21st May. Bookings for the Venue has already begun for an amount of Rs 21,000.

Ahead of its launch in the market, the Hyundai Venue has started arriving at company dealerships. The Venue is the first compact-SUV from the Korean brand in the Indian market and will be positioned below the popular Creta — here is a brief comparison between the two models.

Hyundai Venue Arrives At Dealerships

The Hyundai Venue once launched in India will also be the country's first connected car. It will come with Hyundai's Blue Link Connectivity, which includes 33 features; 10 of them specifically added for the Indian market. Some of these features include remote vehicle relationship management, segment-first safety and security, AI features, location-based services and other alerts as well.

In terms of design, the Hyundai Venue will carry forward the brand's latest design language including the cascading hexagonal grille up front, dual headlamp setup, LED DRLs and squarish LED tail lights. For more details on the design of the upcoming Hyundai Venue — here is our first look review.

Hyundai Venue Arrives At Dealerships

Hyundai will also offer the Venue with a choice of three engines: two petrol and one diesel. This includes a 1.2-litre petrol borrowed from the Elite i20 hatchback. This engine produces 83bhp and 115Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The other petrol powertrain comes in the form of a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit producing 120bhp and 172Nm of torque and is mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission.

Hyundai Venue Arrives At Dealerships

The lone diesel unit comes in the form of a 1.4-litre unit, which is the same engine powering the Creta. The diesel engine produces 89bhp and 220Nm of torque and mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai hopes to make a big impact in the highly-competitive compact-SUV segment in the Indian market with the Venue. The Hyundai Venue comes packed with features and equipment, while also a premium and sporty design — here is how it fares against some of its competition in the segment.

Thoughts On The Hyundai Venue

The Hyundai Venue is expected to be priced similar to its competition, somewhere in the Rs 8 - 12 lakh, ex-showroom range. Once launched in India it will take on rivals such as the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the segment leader Maruti Vitara Brezza.
