The new Blue Link suite of connected car tech is divided into 7 different categories — Safety, Security, Remote, Vehicle Relationship Management (VRM), Location-based services (LBS), Alert Services and Server Voice Recognition.

The Safety suite of connected services consists of the following smart features — Auto Crash Notification & Assistance, SOS/Emergency Assistance, Roadside Assistance.and Panic Notification. Out of these four smart safety features, the first three have been modified for India to help them work with the existing infrastructure in the country.

The Security suite from Blue Link focuses on what gets done when a vehicle is stolen. This suite notifies owners in case their vehicle is stolen and can also track and immobilize the stolen car.

The Remote suite of services allow owners to start up their car and switch on/off the climate control system remotely. However, this system will only be offered in the dual-clutch automatic version of the Venue. Other remote features allows owners to manually put on/off the lights or sound the horn from the app without needing to be in the car. This suite of tech also offers the ability to remotely check the car's status and location, the latter of which can also be shared with others.

The Vehicle Relationship Management (VRM) services allow for automatic and manual Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) checks. Along with the DTC checks, other services included in the VRM setup include a maintenance alert and a monthly health report about the connected car. The final feature will be found only in India and is called Driving information/Behaviour, which should allow owners to know how the person behind the wheel is driving the vehicle (speed, braking, distance travelled and more).

Out of the 7 location-based services offered, three are specifically for India. These India-only features include Destination sharing, real-time tracking and the ability to track the vehicle and share the location with the family. Other features in the location services include the ability to push maps from the app to the car, sharing of maps by call centre, real-time traffic information, real-time point of interest search and scheduled linked setting of destinations.

The Alert suite is made purely for India and features services like geo-fencing, time fencing, speeding alert, valet alert and idle alert.

The server voice recognition will be powered by artificial intelligence and in India has been trained to understand Indian-accented English.
