Spy Pics: Hyundai i10 Facelift Spotted Testing Alongside Maruti Swift
South Korean carmaker Hyundai is currently testing the facelifted 2019 i10 hatchback ahead of its launch later this year. The new 2019 i10 facelift is expected to arrive in time for the Dusshera Diwali festive season and Hyundai has been putting its upcoming hatchback to the test by benchmarking it alongside its biggest rival, the Maruti Suzuki Swift, as seen in the spy images from Rushlane that can be seen below.
While the test vehicle for the updated 2019 Hyundai i10 features heavy camoflauge, there are still quite a few elements of the hatchback that can be seen through the heavy covers. Up front, the new facelifted i10 will feature Hyundai's signature casscading grille along with what appears to be a redesigned headlamp cluster. Also new up front are the fog lamps.
Other changes on the new Hyundai i10 for India with regards to design include new dual-tone alloy wheels for the top-of-the-line variant (the lower-spec mid ranger will feature regular alloys). The i10 also seems to have sprouted new roof rails while the visible B-pillar looks to be blacked out (the A and C-pillars are expected to get the same treatment). Moving to the rear of the facelifted i10 for India, the Swift-rivalling hatchback sports redesigned tail lights along with a new roof mounted stop lamp.
Peeking inside, the new i10 is expected to retain its black and beige dual-tone interior theme. However, the facelifted Swift rival is expected to get a few upgrades in the form of a new steering wheel design alongside a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is expected to offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new Hyundai hatchback will also feature automatic climate control along with vents for the rear passengers.
Under the bonnet, the facelifted Hyundai i10 is expected to carry over its 1.2-litre petrol and diesel powerplants, both of which will be BS-VI compliant when launched. The four-cylinder petrol engine currently offer 82bhp and 116Nm of torque. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is a three-cylinder unit that cranks out 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both engines are offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The current i10 petrol is offered with a torque converter automatic gearbox and there is currently no news on whether Hyundai will swith the facelifted model over to an AMT box instead.
