Hyundai Creta’s Seven-Seater Variant Might Launch In 2020; A Better Alternative To The Tata Hexa?
Hyundai Creta might get a 7-seater variant soon. Hyundai India has seen much success with their popular five-seater SUV and this is the sole reason why the South Korean company is planning to launch a seven-seater version of the Creta. In fact, the Creta averages a sales figure of close to 10,000 units a month.
GaadiWaadi shares that the Hyundai Creta's 7-seater variant should launch in India by the end of 2020; possibly at Auto Expo 2020. The brand, after discontinuing the Hyundai Santa Fe, does not have a seven-seater model in its product portfolio.
At this point, minimal details are known about the upcoming Hyundai seven-seater. We expect it to come with the higher-spec 1.6-litre diesel engine offered on the regular Creta. In addition to this, the 7-seater Creta might not even have the 'Creta' nametag; just like the Tata Harrier (read the review here) and its seven-seater avatar (H7X).
Hyundai is the best-performing foreign-origin car brand in the Indian market, plus the second-largest seller (following Maruti Suzuki). Hyundai products always come in the list of top 10 best-selling cars in India, as well.
As for the Hyundai Creta, it is one of the best-selling SUVs on the market right now; the Maruti Vitara Brezza being the leader (though it is essentially a raised-hatchback). Hyundai India is also working on a sub-four-metre compact-SUV; codenamed as QX1.
Once launched, the seven-seater Creta will be a good alternative to the Tata Hexa. Prices should be in the range of Rs 22 – 25 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
