Hyundai Confirms New Compact Sedan To Be Called Aura
Hyundai officially announced the name of an all new sedan that will be launched in the Indian markets soon. The company said that the all new sedan that is set to replace the Xcent will the called the Hyundai Aura.
The company also said that the name 'Aura' has been inspired by the 'vibrance of positivity' and the 'spirit to go the distance' of young, passionate achievers. The company did not reveal any more details.
From what we know so far, the Hyundai Aura will share most of its body work with the Grand i10 Nios, and will have a better silhouette than the Xcent. The car could possibly feature design and styling from the recently-launched Elantra facelift as well.
The all new Hyundai Aura will feature the company's signature 'cascading grille' and honeycomb mesh finish, boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, rear registration plates on the bumper, and LED strips under the wrap-around LED tail-lights.
The soon-to-be-revealed Hyundai Aura could possibly share most of its interior design with the Grand i10 Nios, and creature comforts like an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, and dual-tone climate control.
Hyundai may also install wireless technology and features its BlueLink connected car tech in top-of-the-line models, just like it did with the Venue.
The all new Hyundai Aura is expected to feature BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engines, as well as BS-VI compliant U2 1.2-litre diesel engines, and offer manual as well as automatic transmissions.
Hyundai is also planning to offer fleet operators and cab aggregators lower trims, just as it does with the Grand i10 Nios, the previous-gen Grand i10, and the current-gen Xcent.
There is no information about pricing just yet, but we expect the Hyundai Aura to be priced between Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Aura will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Honda Amaze, the Ford Aspire, the Tata Tigor, and Renault's upcoming LBA compact sedan.
Thoughts About The Name Aura
Interesting name for a car. Traditionally the name Aura means wind, so we think its safe to assume this car is fairly quiet. Guess we'll have to wait until launch to figure that out. Either way, we're happy Hyundai found a name for its soon to be launched product.
