The front features an octagonal grille with active flaps that allow air to flow to and cool the motor mounted on the front axle. While viewed in profile, the Audi e-Tron SUV has a crossover silhouette and is large enough to be placed between the Audi Q5 and the Audi Q7.

The rear of the SUV features a sloping roof line, and LED taillights that stretch across the boot. The overall design is close to the 'Q' range of SUVs that Audi retails, but the e-Tron distinguishes itself thanks to contemporary styling.

The Audi e-Tron SUV features two electric motors — one on each axle. The one on the front produces 125kW while the rear motor produces 14kW, producing a combined total of 265kW (roughly 355bhp). Peak torque figures stand at 561Nm. The vehicle also features a 'boost mode' that allows for the power output to scale up to 300kW (roughly 408bhp).

Audi claims that the e-Tron SUV has a range of 400 km on a single charge (according to WLTP cycle), and can reach top speeds of 200kmph. It also manages a 0-100kmph sprint in 6.6 seconds when in the normal mode, and 5.7 seconds in the boost mode. Audi has stuck to contemporary design element for the interiors of the e-Tron. There are hardly any buttons in the cabin, and all control functions are distributed between the three display panels on the dashboard. The highlight of the interiors, interestingly, are the virtual camera rear view mirrors.

The wing mirrors on the car are basically high definition cameras that project rear view images on two display screens mounted on the front doors. The display screens can be controlled via touch as well. The Audi e-Tron is the first production car in the world to feature virtual rear view mirrors.

The Audi e-Tron SUV seats five, and features a 660-litre boot. There is an additional 60-litre space under the bonnet, meant for tools and charging wires.

While there is no information about pricing, we expect that the Audi e-Tron will retail at roughly Rs 1.5 crore, ex-showroom (India), but we'll have more information closer to the reveal.
