Russian President, Vladimir Putin’s New Limousine — Is This Presidential Limo Better Than Trump's?
Russian President, Vladimir Putin will soon be travelling in a new presidential limousine. Called the Kortezh (pronounced as 'Cortege'), the armoured Russian saloon has reportedly passed all the required safety tests. Vladimir Putin has been elected as the President once again. He will be inaugurating his presidentship on May 7th, 2018.
Putin's new limo has been jointly developed by Porsche and Bosch. The country's Industry and Trade Minister has shared that the limousine will see its public debut soon. As of now, nothing much is known about the Kortezh, due to security reasons.
But some sources suggest that the Russian presidential limo will be delivered to the Kremlin (in Moscow) before the end of April 2018. So, how is Vladimir Putin's new limo compared to the US President, Donald Trump's upcoming limousine?

Though little news is known about the Russian limousine, a few spy shots have surfaced on the internet, months back. To an untrained eye, the limousine looks like some new Rolls-Royce. Sources have also claimed that Vladimir Putin himself was involved in the development of the car. He is told to have even driven the prototypes in between his busy schedule.
The Kortezh is expected to be powered by a Porsche-engineered 4.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, capable of 592bhp and almost 900Nm of torque. This is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Being a presidential limo, the Kortezh is bound to showcase high levels of safety and security. Closed air supply, thick layers of body armour, chemical attack-resistance, blood bags of the president's group, ammunition in the trunk, bullet-proof windows and tyres and even the capability to withstand missiles, are expected to be prominent highlights in Vladimir Putin's car.
The Kortezh will be available in three body styles: Sedan, MPV and SUV. Unlike America's Cadillac Beast, which is exclusive only to the US President, the Kortezh will be available for purchase to anyone who can afford it.
Vladimir Putin currently uses a W221 Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Guard as the presidential limousine. The Mercedes also provides excellent protection from threats. But, in the end, the car is German rather than Russian. This could be one of the reasons why the Russian government started developing a domestic product.
Meanwhile, a new Cadillac limousine is in the works for the US President. The limo is expected to start its stay at the White House later this year. In short, if the two countries race each other for getting a new presidential limo, Russia would be the winner.
Thoughts On Vladimir Putin's New Russian Presidential Limousine
Presidential cars have always been fascinating works of engineering. Since such cars are meant to be used by the most important person in a country, there ought to be no compromise in safety and security. Perhaps, the US President's Cadillac Beast (soon to be replaced by the new limo) is the most popular example in this regard. But when Vladimir Putin gets his new transport, this could change!
In India, the President, Ram Nath Kovind uses a W140 Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman Guard. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi uses a BMW F01 760li High Security.
