Toyota C-HR To Be Launched In India — Engine Details Revealed

The report states that the India-spec Toyota C-HR will draw power from a 1.8-litre petrol hybrid engine that produces 96.6bhp and 142Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to an electric motor that produces 71bhp and 163Nm of torque. Transmission options include a CVT gearbox delivering power to all the four wheels.

The Toyota C-HR is expected to be launched by 2020. The C-HR crossover features a sharp and edgy design with sleek projector headlamps up front and a black plastic cladding on the lower part of the bumper. The crossover features flared wheel arches and the plastic cladding runs across the body.

The side profile of the Toyota C-HR gets sporty alloy wheels. The rear end of the crossover features C-shaped LED tail lights, roof-mounted spoiler and a muscular bumper with plastic cladding. Overall, the Toyota C-HR looks butch and sporty with the raked rear windshield and sloping roof design.

The interior of the Toyota C-HR features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, engine start/stop button, cruise control and leather seats. Safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, automatic high beam, pedestrian warning and road sign assist.

Toyota also plans to launch the Rush seven-seater SUV in the Indian market, but there is no confirmation about this development. But with the utility vehicle segment becoming popular in the country, the C-HR will be a good option for one of the fastest growing automobile markets.
