Top-Selling Bikes In India July 2018 — The Five Best-Selling Two-Wheelers Remain The Same As Before
Top-Selling Two-Wheelers July 2018: The sales report of the best selling bikes and scooters in July 2018 has been released. Without any surprise, the Honda Activa has attained the top position in India's two-wheeler market. But the most interesting part is that the top-five best-selling bikes/scooters of July 2018 remain the same as it was in June 2018.

When it comes to two-wheelers, India is a huge market for major foreign brands including Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha. Another recent trend which was observed is that scooter sales are declining at a rapid pace compared to motorcycles. The primary reason for this is the introduction of new and better motorcycles from leading brands in India, at an affordable price tag.
That said, here are best-selling bikes as of July 2018:
Rank | Model | July 2018 Sales |
1 | Honda Activa | 2,86,380 |
2 | Hero Splendor | 2,60,865 |
3 | Hero HF Deluxe | 1,83,694 |
4 | Hero Passion | 88,354 |
5 | Hero CB Shine | 86,160 |
6 | Bajaj CT 100 | 76,776 |
7 | Hero Glamour | 74,553 |
8 | TVS XL Super | 67,106 |
9 | TVS Jupiter | 66,632 |
10 | Bajaj Pulsar 150 | 63,388 |
Honda Activa
The Honda Activa, if not the best-selling two-wheeler on the market, will definitely be the most popular scooter in India. The Activa has been on sale for more than 15 years and has now reached its fifth iteration – the Activa 5G. Compared to other scooters on the market, the Honda Activa features a metal body and now comes with full-LED headlamps and a 4-in-1 locking system.
Hero Splendor
The Hero Splendor has always been a top-seller in the two-wheeler market and occasionally attains the lead in the sales report. The Splendor has been around for 20 years and still remains as a favourite in the budget motorcycle category. The bike has gone through several updates over the years and additions such as self-start, alloy wheels and vibrant colour choices make it a budget motorcycle, worth considering.
Hero HF Deluxe
The Hero HF Deluxe sits below the Splendor in the brand's product portfolio. The HF Deluxe features enough styling elements for its segment and is available in dual-tone paint schemes too. Mechanically, it shares the same 97.2cc engine as the Splendor and is assisted by self-start. There is also an HF Deluxe ECO which features a green paint scheme and a rather odd-looking mirror design.
Hero Passion
The Hero Passion is another iconic model from the Indian two-wheeler brand and it is available in three formats: PRO, PRO 110 and X PRO. The engine on the Hero Passion comes with i3S (Idling-Start-Stop System) technology which helps save fuel when the bike is in idling state. All the Hero Passion variants are available in a range of colour schemes and black alloy wheels plus a front disc brake.
Honda CB Shine
The Honda CB Shine – the best-selling budget offering from the Japanese two-wheeler brand – features an extremely refined engine 125cc engine that offers decent performance and high fuel efficiency. The engine boasts of HET (Honda Eco Technology) while the CBS (Combi Brake System) ensures better safety. The latest Honda CB Shine also comes with alloy wheels and a front disc brake.
Bajaj CT 100
The Bajaj CT 100 is a budget motorcycle which is really popular for its mileage figures. The CT 100 has been on the market for many years and still hasn't gone down in sales. The bike still retains the double spring suspension as before but now comes with alloy wheels. The Bajaj CT 100 offers just the essential basics and is available in some attractive graphics too.
Hero Glamour
The Hero Glamour 125 comes with a relatively muscular design, along with updated features compared to its older version. LED tail lamp, wide rear tyre, semi-digital instrument console and i3S technology add to the list of major features. The 124.7cc engine delivers ample amounts of power for its price and doesn't compromise much on fuel efficiency either. The Hero Glamour also follows an all-black theme to aid the styling.
TVS XL Super
The TVS XL Super – India's favourite utility two-wheeler – has served many purposes over the years, including private and commercial. A popular buy in rural areas, the TVS XL Super is one of the basic forms of a geared motorcycle and comes in a range of colours and variants. Also preferred as a fleet purchase, the XL Super offers high mileage figures and has got just the power to be a utility offering.
TVS Jupiter
The TVS Jupiter is one of the best-looking 110cc scooters on the market and comes in four variants including the Jupiter Classic. The TVS Jupiter also offers lots of space and features compared to its competition. The Jupiter showcases decent performance and has a 0-60km/h acceleration time of 11.2 seconds. With all the things it offers, the TVS Jupiter boasts of good value-for-money too.
Bajaj Pulsar 150
The Bajaj Pulsar range is one the most popular names in the entry-level sports motorcycle segment. The second base product – the Bajaj Pulsar 150 – has gone through several updates, bringing some essential improvements over the years. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is also a good commuter but with some sportiness. The current Pulsar 150 comes with front and rear disc brakes along with some graphics.
Verdict
The two-wheeler sales report of July 2018 further proves that Hero MotoCorp is the key player when it comes to large volume sales. The rest of the major two-wheeler brands are of Indian-origin only, except for Honda. Another interesting fact is that Royal Enfield, another big-seller in India, failed to attain a spot in the top 10, unlike before.
