Tata Harrier Variants In Detail — Even The Base Variant Comes Loaded!

Tata Motors has revealed their Harrier SUV in full-detail, ahead of its launch in the Indian market sometime in January 2019. Ahead of its launch, media drives for the Tata Harrier have begun. Watch out for our first drive review coming up soon.

With the start of the media drives, the company has also revealed the variants, along with the list of features available on the Harrier SUV. The Tata Harrier will be available in a choice of four variants: XE, XM, XT & XZ.

Prices for the Tata Harrier are yet to be officially revealed, however, Tata Motors has hinted the Harrier to be priced around Rs 16 -21 lakh, on road. Exact prices and the break-up for each variant will be announced closer to the date of launch.

Before getting into the Tata Harrier variants, let's first look at the specifications on the new and much-awaited SUV from Tata Motors.

The Tata Harrier will be powered by a new 2.0-litre turbocharged ‘kryotec' diesel engine. It produces 138bhp and 350Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The engine will power the front wheels as standard, without the optional four-wheel-drive system available at the time of launch.

          Thoughts On The Tata Harrier SUV

          The Tata Harrier SUV has been one of the most-awaited products in the segment. The Harrier comes with a new platform (OMEGARC), based on the Land Rover's D8 architecture. With a launch expected in January 2019, the Harrier will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV500.
