Tata Harrier 7-Seater SUV To Launch In 2019 — Packs 40bhp More And Looks Completely Different
Tata Motors recently unveiled their Harrier SUV. The 5-seater SUV is part of the new IMPACT 2.0 design language and is the first model to come with OMEGA platform.
Tata Motors has already confirmed a seven-seater variant of the Tata Harrier. According to recent reports, the 7-seater SUV was expected to debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. Now, IAB shares that the upcoming Tata H7X will sport a completely different silhouette compared to the 5-seater, in addition to having two extra seats at the rear.
The new 7-seater SUV is said to be based on the reworked OMEGA platform. Reports suggest that the OMEGA architecture might be stretched out to accommodate the third row of seats on the new Harrier-based SUV.
Apart from the additional third-row seating, the seven-seater SUV will carry forward the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as seen on the Harrier. However, the engine on the 7-seater SUV will be tuned to produce more power of 173bhp similar to the Jeep Compass.
An automatic gearbox is also being worked on by Tata Motors, which is expected to make its way onto both, the Harrier and the upcoming 7-seater SUV.
Apart from the 7-seater SUV, Tata Motors will be launching two other models: the Harrier (January 2019) and the 45X hatchback. The new Tata hatchback (codenamed 45X) has been spied testing multiple times and is expected to be launched in the market sometime in mid-2019.

Thoughts On The Tata 7-Seater SUV
Tata Motors had already confirmed the introduction of the 7-seater SUV (codenamed the H7X) along with the Harrier. With the launch expected in 2019, the 7-seater SUV will rival the likes of the newly launched Mahindra Alturas G4, Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
