Auto Expo 2018: Renault Trezor Concept Showcased. The Trezor concept was unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and the name 'Trezor' is derived Trésor, the French word for treasure. The Renault Trezor previews Renault's new design language which is expected to be seen in the French carmaker's new cars that will debut at this year's Paris Motor Show in October.
The Renault Trezor showcases Renault's new design language and is designed by the French carmaker's chief designerLaurens van den Acker, the person responsible for the Renault Dezir that dictated Renault's design from 2012 onward.
Up front, the Renault Trezor features C-Shaped headlights that surround large air intakes. Connecting the headlamps together is a slimchrome grille with a large Renault badge at its centre.
From the sides, the Trezor's low height of just 1080mm is very pronounced as are the large 20-inch wheels. However, the Trezor's party piece is itsroof which opens upward and forwards to allow access to the interior.
The interior of the Trezor is dominated by multiple displays including one onthe steering wheel. The steering wheel itself widens out to allow the driver access to the displays behind it when the Trezor is switched to autonomous driving mode. The displays can then be used to watch a movie or for other entertainment purposes.
At the back end of the Trezor, the sleek taillights are connected to the Renault badge in the centre by another illuminated panel. The Renault badge at the rear like the one up front is illuminated as well. The concept's name sits under the badge on the rear bumper and is lit up as well.
Powering the Renault Trezor concept (it is one of the few that can run on its own power) is an electric motor from Renault's Formula E racing car. The electric motor draws power from two motors placed at the front and back of the Trezorand sends 345bhp and 380Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The Trezor sprints from 0–100kph in under four seconds.
The battery packs can be recharged (along with the conventional method) by using a brake operated energy recovery systemthat is also borrowed from Formula E.
