2018 Range Rover & Range Rover Sport Launched In India; Prices Start From Rs 99.48 Lakh
2018 Range Rover & Range Rover Sport India-Launch Details: Land Rover has launched the new 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models in India. Prices for the lesser Range Rover Sport starts at Rs 99.48 lakh while the more premium Range Rover has a starting price of Rs 1.74 crore. Both pricings are ex-showroom (Delhi).
Bookings for the two models had already started in April 2018. Orders can also be made online on Land Rover India's official website.
The new Land Rover models bring the latest of Jerry McGovern's design language. Both Range Rover SUVs feature sharp design elements put together in a modern package. Some of the design traits are familiar from the recently-launched Range Rover Velar.
While the Range Rover features an elegant design, the Range Rover Sport, as the name suggests, adds some sporty bits to its styling. It has got larger air dams, sharper edges and blacked-out elements.
Both SUVs showcase excellent off-road capability, thanks to the host of driving aids they come with. Features such as electronic air suspension, Terrain Response 2, twin-speed transfer box with electronic centre differential and adaptive dynamics ensure that the Range Rover models can take over any road conditions.
Inside, the new Range Rover lineup features a Touch Pro Duo dual-screen infotainment system that was first introduced in the Velar. The system forms the major part of the dashboard and adapts to a lot of functionalities, controllable by the rotary knobs.
The 12.3-inch digital instrument console shows a lot of advanced real-time data.
The new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport is available in four engine formats: 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol, 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol, 3.0-litre V6 diesel and 4.4-litre V8 diesel. The engines come mated to an eight-speed automatic which sends power to all four wheels.
The V6 petrol engine makes 335bhp and 450Nm of torque while the V6 diesel makes 190bhp and 255Nm. The V8 diesel makes 250bhp and 740Nm of torque and the V8 petrol makes 518bhp and 625Nm.
The Range Rover Sport rivals the Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, BMW X5 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS. The Range Rover rivals the Porsche Cayenne, Jaguar F-Pace and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
