Nissan And Datsun Announce Price Hike: Nissan India has announced that it will increase the prices of both the Nissan and Datsun models.

Nissan India has announced that it will increase the prices of both the Nissan and Datsun models by upt two percent. The increased prices will be applicable from April 1, 2018.

Nissan India has decided to increase the price across the range in India due to the rising input costs. To balance the manufacturing cost, Nissan has announced a marginal price hike.

Currently, Nissan retails the Micra hatchback, Sunny sedan and the Terrano compact SUV in India. On the other hand, Datsun sells the GO and redi-GO hatchbacks and GO+ compact family wagon.

Previously, in the beginning of 2018, Nissan had announced a price hike of up to Rs 15,000 depending on the model. The reason for the price hike was the rise in input and raw material costs.

Managing Director of Nissan India, Jerome Saigot said, "Due to rising input costs, we will be increasing the price of our Nissan and Datsun cars with effect from 1st April, 2018. We are confident that our cars will continue to offer excellent value and choice to our customers."

Nissan is not the only manufacturer to announce a price hike. Tata Motors and Audi too have increased the prices in India which will be applicable from April 1, 2018. Audi increased the price due to rise in customs duty.
