New FIA Grade-3 Certified Racetrack To Come Up In Andhra Pradesh — Amaravati Race Resort
Andhra Pradesh is all set to get a new racetrack soon. The race resort will feature a new 3.3km FIA Grade-3 certified racetrack, along with other facilities.
Indian motorsport is all set to get a big boost, with the addition of a new racetrack. The new track will be built at Kotapalli village, Ananthapuramu district in Andhra Pradesh.
According to Autocar India, the construction of the new Amaravati Race Resort began last weekend. The new racetrack is being built by Anush Chakravarthi, Director, Nidhi Marque One Motors, along with the support of the Andhra Pradesh government.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the racetrack was held last week. The event saw many local MLAs and officials from the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority in attendance.
On the occasion, Chakravarthi, stated, "It has been a long-time dream of mine to have a racetrack in the region. I am glad it has now become a reality. We are extremely grateful for the support from the Andhra Pradesh Government and the Chief Minister."
The new circuit will be 3.3km long and built on a 219-acre plot. The racetrack will be certified for FIA Grade-3, allowing cars with a power-to-weight ratio of 1:3 (bhp:kg) to race. The 3.3km racetrack will also feature elevation changes, as high as 40m.
The entireproject will be split into three construction phases. The first phase of construction will take 18 months to finish. This will include the construction of the racetrack itself, along with a 40-room three-star resort.
The second and third phase of construction is expected to include a five-hole golf course, a sports complex and an automotive-themed amusement park.
Apart from the racetrack, the Amaravati Race Resort will also have a drag strip, as well as an off-road track with a rock-crawl driving area. There will also be a skid pad and a wet surface track, to allow automobile companies to test their products.
The entire project completion is expected to take roughly seven years and six months, from the time of land allotment. The entire build will also help provide employment for over 300 people.
Promoters of the racetrack will also provide club memberships at the race resort. This will allow members to avail exclusive facilities, while also getting preferential rates for rooms and track hire.
Thoughts On The New Racetrack In Andhra Pradesh
The government of Andhra Pradesh, led by Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu has offered a lot of support towards the construction of the racetrack. The government helped in securing the required land, while also providing other benefits.
The new racetrack will surely boost the motorsports scene in the country - more races, championships and track events for enthusiasts!
