New Maruti Swift Garners Over 75,000 Bookings; Waiting Period Soars Up
New Maruti Swift garners over 75,000 bookings: The new Maruti Swift has clocked over 75,000 bookings in less than two months.
Maruti Suzuki launched the new Swift in India at the Auto Expo 2018 at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The bookings for the third-gen Swift commenced in the last week of January, just days before launch.
Now, the new Maruti Swift has clocked over 75,000 bookings in less than two months and the waiting period has gone up to two months in some cities.
The Maruti Swift has been a best-selling hatchback in the country and with the launch of the third-gen model the popularity of the Swift is on the rise. The new Maruti Swift comes with several significant updates to the design and features which makes it even more appealing.
The new 2018 Maruti Swift features an all-new design language with a revamped front end which renders a refreshed look to India's best-selling hatchback.
The prominent changes include a large hexagonal front grille, newly designed headlamps with projector lights and LED DRLs, new alloy wheels and ORVM integrated turn indicators.

On the side profile, the new Maruti Swift features the signature sloping roof design. What's new is the floating roof effect, and the rear door handle mounted on the window frame. The rear profile also gets newly designed tail lamp cluster, tailgate and bumper.
Powering the new 2018 Swift is the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 82bhp, and 113Nm of torque and the diesel unit churns out 74bhp and 190Nm of torque.
Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic manual gearbox (AGS).
The interior of the new Maruti Swift sports a new flat-bottom steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system and circular AC control dials. The overall design of the dashboard is similar to the new Dzire, and it feels more premium as compared to the outgoing model.
