Maruti Suzuki has just launched their all-new Ertiga MPV in the Indian market. The new Maruti Ertiga has been launched with a starting price of Rs 7.44 lakh, ex-showroom (India). Bookings for the new Ertiga MPV already began a week ago, for an amount of Rs 11,000.

The new Maruti Ertiga 2018 MPV comes with a completely refreshed design, sharper lines and has a more premium upmarket feel. It also features a host of features and equipment as compared to the previous generation model.

New Maruti Ertiga: Variants & Prices

The new Maruti Ertiga is available in four basic trim levels and ten variants; four petrol, four diesel and two petrol automatic. This includes LXi/LDi, VXi/VDi, ZXi/ZDi, ZXi+/ZDi+ and the VXi AT/ZXi AT.

As mentioned before, the base LXi variant of the new Maruti Ertiga comes with a price tag of Rs 7.44 lakh. The top end (ZDi+), on the other hand, is priced at Rs 10.90 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom (India).

New Maruti Ertiga: Power & Torque

The new Maruti Ertiga comes powered by two engines: a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel unit. The 1.5-litre K-15 Series petrol engine is a new power unit from Maruti Suzuki and was first seen on the recently updated Ciaz model. The new engine produces 105bhp and 138Nm of torque and is mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque converter gearbox.

The new Maruti Ertiga MPV carries forward the same 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine from its previous model. It produces the same 90bhp and 200Nm of torque and comes mated to a standard five-speed gearbox, without the option of an automatic.

Both engines further come mated to Maruti's SHVS mild-hybrid technology, which helps improve performance and efficiency.

The new Maruti Ertiga comes with SHVS (Smart Hybrid) technology for both petrol and diesel variants. The hybrid technology offers better efficiency and performance from the new engine.

The new Maruti Ertiga comes with a fuel tank capacity of 45 litres and the company claims an ARAI certified mileage figures of 19.34km/l for the petrol MT, 18.69km/l for the petrol AT and 25.57km/l for the diesel MT.

The new Maruti Ertiga is part of the fifth-generation HEARTECT platform. The new platform on the Ertiga now provides bigger overall dimensions for the new generation model. The new Maruti Ertiga is now longer, wider and taller than the previous generation. However, the company have kept the overall wheelbase identical to the old model.

The ground clearance, though, on the new-gen Ertiga has been reduced to 180mm compared to the first-generation model.

Bookings for the new Maruti Ertiga opened a week ahead of its launch. The new Ertiga MPV is now available across all company dealerships in India and can be booked for an amount of Rs 11,000.

Deliveries of the new-generation Ertiga MPV will begin from sometime next month or the first week of January 2019.
