Auto Expo 2018: Hyundai New Car Launches And Unveils
The 14th Delhi Auto Expo is a prestigious affair for every carmaker participating in the event. Some of the most prominent automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Honda, Renault and new entrants such as Kia Motors revealed, showcased and launched new products at the biennial event.
Korean auto giant Hyundai had an exciting lineup at the Auto Expo 2018 as well. Here is the list of new Hyundai Cars at Auto Expo 2018.
Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift
Hyundai launched the i20 facelift at the Auto Expo 2018 with subtle but striking cosmetic updates. The new i20 facelift prices start at Rs 5.34 lakh and go up to Rs 7.90 lakh depending upon the variant. The facelifted Hyundai i20 features the company's new design language and the biggest highlight is the cascading front grille.
The new i20 features sharper projector headlamps along with integrated LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the i20 facelift gets wraparound taillights, a dual-tone rear bumper and 16-inch alloy wheels. The new i20 comes with six different colour options along with three dual-tone options as well.
Under the hood, the Hyundai i20 facelift model employs the same set of engines found on the outgoing model. The 1.2-litre petrol engine churns out 83bhp and 115Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and will also get an AMT gearbox as an option later in a year.

Hyundai IoniqElectric Vehicle & Hybrid
Hyundai took the wraps off the IoniqEV and the Hybrid versions at the Auto Expo 2018, which offers a glimpse of Hyundai's vision of mobility for the future. Hyundai was supposed to launch the Ioniqhybrid in India, but with hybrids attracting high taxation with the revision of Goods and Service Tax (GST), the company has put the plans on hold.
As for the specifications of the Hyundai IoniqEV, the vehicle is powered by an electric motor producing power equivalent to 119bhp and 295Nm of torque. The IoniqEV can sprint from 0-100kmph in 10.2 seconds and 9.9 seconds on sports mode. Top speed of the IoniqEV is 165kmph and boasts of driving range of 280km.
The Hyundai IoniqHybrid version's electric motor produces 42bhp and 170Nm of torque drawing power from a1.56kWh lithium-ion-polymer battery. Along with the petrol engine and the electric motor, the total output is 138bhp and 265Nm of torque with a top speed of 185kmph.
Hyundai Kona
Hyundai Kona was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 with The Hyundai Kona sits below the Creta SUV. The Kona is a cross-hatch with all the design language of an SUV but in a hatchback platform. The small SUV from Hyundai is based on the i20 platform and is expected to share most of the features from the hatchback.
As for the engine specifications, the Hyundai Kona might employ the existing powertrains of Hyundai cars in India such as the 1.2- and 1.4-litre petrol engine and the 1.4-litre diesel unit for the Indian market. Gearbox duties are expected to be both the manual gearbox and the automatic gearbox.

The lineup for the Auto Expo 2018 by Hyundai looks exciting which had a combination of launches, showcase along with electric vehicles as well. We expected Hyundai to launch the much-awaited Creta facelift model, but it looks like the company has planned to launch the vehicle during the festive season in 2018.
Also, sorely missed was the new Hyundai Santro to be unveiled. Hyundai is expected to bring the new Santro by the end of 2018. That said, Hyundai brought the best to the Auto Expo 2018 and has left some for a later date in the year.
