New Honda CR-V India Launch Details Revealed
Honda showcased the new-gen CR-V at the Auto Expo 2018 and the company also confirmed that the crossover SUV will be launched in the Indian market. Now, Autocar India reports that the new Honda CR-V will be launched in the country in October 2018.
The new-gen Honda CR-V is larger than the outgoing model and the SUV will be offered with a third-row seat. But the prominent highlight of the new CR-V will be the new diesel engine. Yes, the new CR-V will be offered with a diesel engine in the Indian market.
The diesel variant of the new Honda CR-V will draw power from a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine from the Earth Dreams engine family. The diesel unit churns out 118bhp and 300Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters as standard. The Honda CR-V will also feature all-wheel-drive system.
Powering the petrol version of the Honda CR-V will be a 2-litre engine that produces 152bhp and 189Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a CVT gearbox. The Honda CR-V petrol will be offered with a front-wheel-drive configuration and it will also miss out on paddle shifters.
Honda is yet to reveal the specifications and features of the new CR-V. But we can expect the new CR-V to come equipped with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and electrically adjustable driver's seat.
The new Honda CR-V will be assembled in India and we can expect the pricing to be around Rs 28 lakh ex-showroom. After the launch of the CR-V, Honda is expected to introduce the new Civic, which was also showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. The new Honda Civic will also utilise the same powertrain of the CR-V.

Honda will finally launch the new CR-V in the Indian market. The biggest USP of the CR-V will be its third-row seats and the new diesel engine. The new CR-V will be also equipped with a host of comfort and safety features. We can expect more details to be revealed in the coming months.
