2018 Mercedes S-Class facelift launched in India. The launch of the facelifted S-Class comes a few weeks after the launch of the Maybach S-Class at Auto Expo 2018.
2018 Mercedes S-Class facelift launched in India. Prices for the facelifted 2018 Mercedes S-Class in India start at Rs 1.33 Crore ex-showroom. The new S-Class is the first BS-VI emission norms compliant car made in India, that can meet the stricter norms which come into effect in 2020, while running on current BS-IV fuels.

2018 Mercedes S-Class Specifications
The facelifted Mercedes S-Class gets a set of new petrol and diesel turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engines. The new Mercedes S-Class 350 d is powered by an all-new turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six diesel engine that produces 282bhp and 600Nm of torque. The engine on the Mercedes S 350 d is paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2018 Mercedes S 350 d accelerates from 0-100kph in 6.0 seconds and has a top speed of 250kph. According to Mercedes, the new S 350 d is the first BS-VI compliant car to be made in India.
The new Mercedes S 450 is also powered by a new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine. The S 450's twin-turbo inline six engine produces 362bhp & 500Nm of torque, all of which is sent to the rear wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The new S 450 sprints from 0-100kph in 5.1 seconds and like the diesel S-Class, it is electronically limited to a top speed of 250kph.
2018 Mercedes S-Class Facelift Design & Features
The facelifted 2018 Mercedes S-Class sports subtle tweaks to the design of the original car with the front end featuring a revised front grille with blacked out vertical bars, sitting behind the chromed-out triple horizontal slats.
Other changes include the new multi-beam LED headlamps with triple LED daytime running lights which are a new signature design feature for the S-Class. The front bumper has been tweaked as well and looks sportier while featuring larger air intakes.
The rear end of the new 2018 Mercedes S-Class has also been tweaked with a revised bumper and a new design for the taillamps. Also new are the 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels.
The interior of the S-Class is where the major tweaks have taken place, with the addition of twin 12.3-inch displays that replace the instrument binnacle and the old infotainment display. The new 12.3-inch infotainment display offers support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and is paired with a 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system with a total output of 590W.
Other features include a new panoramic sunroof with an obstruction sensor, new touch panels on the steering wheel to control the infotainment system, an ambient lighting system with 64 colour options, 6 different fragrance options for the interior, climate control with ionization that improves air quality and wireless charging pads on both the front and rear armrests.
The new Mercedes S-Class also features a host of safety features including multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control and more.
Mercedes has also fitted the new S-Class with an array of Radar guided safety features including Active Distance Assist which keeps the flagship Merc at a certain distance behind another car at speeds up to 210kph, and if necessary applies the brakes as well.
Also present are the Active Steering Assist, which keeps the S-Class in the centre of the lane on long straight stretches of road, along with Active Brake Assist and Blind Spot Assist. The latter warns drivers of any obstacles in the car's blind spot while changing lanes.
