Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm 2018 Powered By ExxonMobil: Stage 2 Results
Stage 2 of Maruti Desert Storm 2018, powered by ExxonMobil, advanced through the dry land of Bikampur.
Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm 2018 Stage 2 complete. The second stage of India's biggest rally, powered by ExxonMobil, started at Bikaner and ended at Bikampur.
The route towards Bikampur from Bikaner (Stage 1) was around 200 kilometres-long. Four-wheelers and two-wheelers raced ahead through the narrow sections of the checkpoints under the scorching sun.
Since the checkpoint at Bikampur was rather small, we moved to the next location in the same stage - Pabusar.
The finishing point of Stage 2 was placed in Pabusar. Situated in the outskirts of the Thar desert, Pabusar also served as a service point. From there started a transport section to Jaisalmer where the third stage was to start.
The terrain of Pabusar was filled with dry vegetation and with loose sand. Contestants had a tough time navigating through the uneven terrain.
Visibility was very much blocked by the thick bushes in Pabusar. However, the sound of the engines was audible from afar.
Stage 2 ended in the evening and riding conditions weren't that bad. But the timings of the next stage was set in such a way that contestants had to move through the desert in the middle of the day.
