Third-Generation Swift
The new 2018 Swift will feature an all-new design, and it will be based on the new lighter HEARTECT platform which also underpins the new Dzire and Baleno. The new platform uses lightweight, high tensile steel which will improve the driving dynamics of the hatchback.
The new-gen Maruti Swift will continue to draw power from the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine producing 82bhp and 74bhp respectively. Both the engines will come mated to 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to offer AMT transmission.
2018 WagonR
Maruti Suzuki will update the WagonR with an all-new model in 2018. The new 2018 WagonR will feature a revamped exterior design while retaining its tall-boy stance. The new iteration of the WagonR is likely to draw power from the same 1-litre petrol engine found on the current model.
The transmission options on the new WagonR will include a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. Maruti Suzuki might also offer both the LPG and CNG options on the dual-fuel variants. Expect the new WagonR to hit the Indian roads by the end of 2018.
Ertiga Facelift
In 2018, Maruti Suzuki will also update the Ertiga MPV with the new design and mechanical components. The same HEARTECT platform will underpin the 2018 Ertiga. Maruti has already commenced testing the facelifted Ertiga on Indian roads, and it is expected to be slightly larger than the currently sold model.
The new 2018 Ertiga is likely to draw power from a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Both the engines are expected to come mated to a manual or AMT gearbox. Expect the seven-seater MPV to get updates to the interior as well with new features.
