Mahindra XUV 300 On Road Without Camouflage — Looks Quite Good In This Paint Scheme!
The new Mahindra XUV 300 has been spotted on road in its production avatar i.e. with no camouflage. Unveiled only recently, the Mahindra XUV 300 is based on the SsangYong Tivoli sold in global markets, and competes in the sub-four-metre compact-SUV segment.
UPDATE: Mahindra Automotive has launched the XUV300 at a compelling starting price of Rs 7.90 lakh ex-showroom (India) — click here to know all the details (including variant-wise pricing).
The images shared by AutoPunditz show the XUV 300, on road, and in the middle of what seems to be an ad shoot. It is quite common for automotive manufacturers to make TV commercials ahead of a product launch, but seldom do they do it in complete discretion.
Mahindra claims that the XUV 300 has got all the ‘Cheetah' design details as its elder sibling, the XUV 500. In fact, the company has even released a pre-launch video showcasing that — watch the Mahindra XUV 300 TVC here.
At this point, very few details are known about the compact Mahindra XUV 300. However, the company has promised it to be loaded with enough and more equipment to have an extra edge over its competitors. This includes seven airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, dual-zone climate controls and projector headlamps; to name a few.
The engine is expected to be the same 1.5-litre diesel unit which powers the Mahindra Marazzo. It makes 121bhp and 320Nm of torque, while coming mated to a six-speed manual. Petrol andautomatic variants of the XUV 300 can also happen at a later stage.
As mentioned before, the Mahindra XUV 300 is aimed to be a strong rival to the compact-SUV segment leaders: Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon. The expected price range of the XUV 300, on the other hand, is in the range of Rs 10 – 14 lakh ex-showroom (on-road prices: Rs 12 – 16 lakh).
Thoughts On The New Mahindra XUV 300
The Mahindra XUV 300 seems to be a worthy contender in one of the most competitive vehicle segments on the Indian market. Prior to its official unveiling, the XUV 300 was spotted testing multiple times on our roads, but this is the first time it was seen in production-ready format.
