Mahindra Rexton (XUV700)

Mahindra Rexton is the carmaker's badged version of the SsangYong G4 Rexton SUV, the company's Korean subsidiary. The Rexton will sit above the list as the flagship vehicle of the carmaker's lineup for India.

Mahindra though has confirmed that name of the vehicle will be changed with an all-new brand name. The SsangYong G4 Rexton has won many accolades and awards for its technology, safety and style and the reason behind Mahindra bringing the Rexton to India.

The Mahindra badged Rexton is powered by a new 2.2-litre diesel engine which produces 178bhp and 420Nm of torque and comes mated to a 7-speed Mercedes-Benz automatic gearbox. The features of the Mahindra Rexton is plush featuring 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control among others.

Mahindra eKUV100 (Electric Vehicle)

With India's ambitious target to electrify its entire fleet by 2020, domestic and global carmakers are developing new and exciting electric vehicles (EVs) for India. Leading the charge is Mahindra's electric vehicles as its the only major carmaker to be retailing EVs in India with e2o, eVerito and the eSupro.

That said, car buyers are looking for a traditional looking car in an EV form and not a radical looking vehicle. That's where Mahindra wants to offer the eKUV100, the electric KUV100. The KUV100 electric vehicle, visually, is similar to the internal combustion model except for the EV badging. Mechanically, the Mahindra eKUV100 draws power from a 30kW motor and lithium-ion battery pack with a range of 140km on a single charge; however, upon launch, Mahindra will offer an upgraded electric motor.

Mahindra TUV Stinger Concept

The Mahindra TUV Stinger concept is the convertible version of the TUV300 SUV. The carmaker claims that the Stinger SUV is the first Indian convertible SUV that's a combination of capabilities of an SUV with the looks of a convertible. Mahindra assures that the TUV Stinger has been designed as an urbane, rugged vehicle with the promise of safety and reliability.

The TUV Stinger convertible SUV draws power from Mahindra's diesel mHawk engine which produces 140Bhp and 320Nm of torque. Though not much information is available, the TUV Stinger reflects the popularity of SUVs in India.

Mahindra Thar Wanderlust

Mahindra showcased a customised Thar SUV with several upgrades on the exterior as well as on the interior. The Thar Wanderlust edition will sit above the Thar Daybreak Edition with prominent customisation done to the exterior of the SUV. The Thar Wanderlust features gullwing doors on the sides for ease of access to the rear seats.

The Thar Wanderlust features LED headlights with circular LED daytime running lights and fog lamps, and the new bumper comes fitted with a winch, tow hooks, snorkel for air-intake, jerry cans among others.

Additionally, the Mahindra Thar Wanderlust SUV comes equipped with wing mirrors, 33-inch tyres, high lift jack mounted on the bonnet. Mechanically, the Thar Wanderlust continues to draw power from the 2.5-litre diesel unit which develops 105bhp and 247Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox with a 4WD system. Mahindra has not confirmed with the Thar Wanderlust edition will be launched in India or if the accessories displayed will be available for sale.

Mahindra UDO

Mahindra unveiled the UDO, a compact two-seater Concept Electric mobility pod, at Auto Expo 2018 for the first time. The Mahindra UDO is developed keeping city dilemmas in mind, such as traffic congestion and pollution. The UDO features climate control, touchscreen infotainment and Bluetooth enabled audio system along with 'smart fitness' feature, which allows you to pedal your way back home if you run out of power. And while you're pedalling, the system will recharge the batteries.

Mahindra ATOM

Another concept at Mahindra's stall at Auto Expo 2018 is the ATOM. The ATOM is powered by the carmaker's new electric powertrain, where one can swap the batteries to increase the driving range of the vehicle. Also, the ATOM comes with an 'intelligent connectivity system, on which commuters can make bookings and payments. The ATOM is built indigenously, and will also keep the users informed about the train, bus and flight schedules, along with the nearest boarding points.

Mahindra Treo

Mahindra not only revealed passenger vehicles but even showcased its commercial vehicle at Auto Expo 2018. The Mahindra Treo is the company's first low-maintenance Lithium-ion battery powered three-wheeler, named Treo. With the Treo, Mahindra is looking to promote mass adoption of electric vehicles and last-mile movement and connectivity in cities.

Mahindra e2o NXT

Mahindra's first electric vehicles into production and is on sale; the e2o has been upgraded visually and named e2o NXT. The new e2o NXT is similar looking to the present model, except for the front and rear fascias. The e2o facelift features new and more significant dual-barrel headlamp clusters, blue backlit grille and a new bumper with body skirts. On the side and rear, the new e2o NXT retains the boxy design save the skirts, while at the rear the Mahindra EV gets revised tailgate with sizeable grey insert below the windshield.

Inside the Mahindra e2o NXT, the EV features beige upholstery and dashboard inserts, while the dashboard layout has been altered slightly and the e2o now boasts of a larger infotainment screen. Power to the e2o NXT comes in two options like the current model: an 11 or 15 kWh battery which drives 3-phase AC induction motors, which produce 19kW and 70Nm respectively.

The motor on the Mahindra e2o NXT offers a driving range of 140km from the 15kW battery and can fully charge in 7 hours and 20 minutes via single-phase 3kW 16amp charger or 1 hour 35 minutes through a three-phase 10kW 32 amp charger.

Mahindra cars and SUVs at Auto Expo 2018 had an excellent mix of both production vehicles, concepts, and future mobility solutions. The carmaker's most significant highlight at Auto Expo 2018 was the TUV Stinger which the company should seriously consider moving it to production. That said, the other lineup which included all the products for the future of mobility, reveals the carmaker's vision of the future in the automotive industry.
