Mahindra Marazzo Crash Test (Global NCAP) Result — Gets Four-Star Safety Rating

Mahindra Marazzo Crash Test Results: Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) has revealed the crash test results for the Mahindra Marazzo. The Marazzo MPV has scored an impressive four-star safety rating, making it the first-ever 'Made-in-India' MPV to get such a result.

The Mahindra Marazzo scored 12.85 points out of 17 in adult occupant safety (four-star rating). However, the Marazzo scored 22.22 out of 49 points for child occupancy, which translates to a two-star rating.

The test results of the Mahindra Marazzo are valid for all MPVs manufactured after November 16, 2018. With the launch of the Marazzo taking place in September, it is yet to be confirmed of any modifications made on the product after its launch.

The score is the highest for any Mahindra product till now. It is also the highest score compared to any other Indian-made MPV in the market. All other Indian-made MPVs such as the Renault Lodgy, Chevrolet Enjoy and the Maruti Suzuki Eeco have failed their respective safety tests.

In terms of child occupant safety, Global NCAP noticed that the forward-facing child seats, when secured to the ISOFIX mounts to prevent excessive forward movement. This excessive forward movement would cause serious injuries for a child above three years. Hence, Global NCAP awarded a rating of just two-stars for child safety.

As for adult occupancy, Global NCAP revealed that the driver chest protection was less than acceptable. Also, the front seat-belt reminder did not meet the agency's standards.

The Mahindra Marazzo was launched in the Indian market in September 2018. The MPV comes with a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). The Marazzo MPV comes with a host of safety features across its entire variant lineup. These safety features include dual airbags, ABS, seat-belt reminder, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and front seat-belt pre-tensioners.

The Tata Nexon was also recently put to the test, by the Global NCAP. The Tata Nexon SUV scored an impressive five-star rating at the crash test.

Thoughts On The Mahindra Marazzo's Four-Star Global NCAP Crash Test Rating

The recently launched Mahindra Marazzo comes with all the safety features and has done impressively well at the Global NCAP.
