Lamborghini Urus launched in India. The Urus is Lamborghini's second ever SUV after the LM002 Rambo Lambo.
Lamborghini Urus launched in India. The Lamborghini Urus is priced at Rs 3 crore ex-showroom (India). The Urus is the second SUV to bear Lamborghini's iconic raging bull badge and was first revealed on December 4, last year.
Lamborghini Urus Specifications & Performance
Powering the Urus is the first ever turbocharged engine fitted to a Lamborghini. The engine, a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 produces 641bhp @ 6,000rpm and 850Nm of torque @ 2,250-4,500rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The Lamborghini Urus sprints from 0-100kph in just 3.6 seconds and will hit 200kph in 12.8 seconds. The Lamborghini Urus tops out at 305kph.
The Lamborghini Urus gets six driving modes - three for regular on-road driving: Strada (street), Sport, Corsa (track) - and three exclusive off-roading modes - Sabbia (Sand), Terra (Gravel) and Neve (Snow).
The Urus 'Super SUV' also gets active torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension and active anti-roll bars.
The Lamborghini Urus measures in at 5,112mm long, 2,016mm wide and stands 1,638mm tall. The wheelbase of the Urus is 3,003mm long wheelbase. The Urus weighs in at 2,200 kilograms and has an 85-litre fuel tank. The Urus is based on the Volkswagen Group's MLB Evo platform that also underpins the Bentley Bentayga and the Porsche Cayenne.
Lamborghini Urus Design & Features
Regarding design, the Urus retains the main design cues seen on the concept car that was unveiled in 2012 at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. However, Lamborghini has tweaked the original design which can be seen up front in the form of the massive yet intricate grille and front bumper section.
The front end helps channel air to the engine from the large air intakes. The front splitter element helps with SUV's aerodynamics by pushing air through the underbody of the Urus.
The headlights and tail lights of the Lamborghini Urus looks rather slim compared to the massive dimensions of the SUV. The Urus comes standard with 21-inch alloy wheels shod with 285/45 ZR21 (front) and 315/40 ZR21 (rear) tyres. Owners of the new Urus can also opt for 22 or 23-inch alloys as well.
The interiors of the Urus feature five leather-clad seats and three large TFT displays. One of these displays is situated behind the steering wheel and replaces the instrument binnacle found on regular cars.
The other two TFT displays are found on the centre console with the upper one being used by the infotainment system and the lower one controlling functions like the climate control system.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The Lamborghini Urus sees Italian supercar brand return to the world of SUVs after nearly 25 years. However, unlike the Rambo Lambo of the 80s and early 90s, the new Urus can give its supercar brothers a run for their money in terms of speed both on and off the road.
Lamborghini is hedging its bets on the new Urus as it looks to double its global production with the new SUV. With India's growing appetite for SUVs, we expect the new Lamborghini Urus to be a surefire hit among the who's who in the country.
