Kia SP Concept SUV India Launch Sooner Than Expected
Kia SP Concept India launch details" Kia Motors is all set to launch the production version of the SP Concept which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018.
South Korean automaker Kia Motors is all set to begin its India operations by the second half of 2019. Kia also showcased its entire range of products at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2018. But the prominent highlight of the Indian auto show was the unveiling of the SP Concept compact SUV specifically developed for the Indian market.
Now, ET Auto reports that Kia Motors is speeding up the process to introduce the new SP compact SUV in the Indian market and the SUV could be launched in the country sooner than expected. The company has taken this decision after receiving a tremendous response for the SP Concept at the Auto Expo 2018.
The Kia SP Concept is a futuristic compact SUV with bold styling and Kia's unique design DNA which will attract young buyers in the country. The amalgamation of wide and stable stance, sporty and long hood profile and futuristic design will set new standards in the compact SUV segment in India.

Kia Motors' head of sales and marketing in India, Manohar Bhat said, "In the four months (since work has started), we are ahead of the schedule by two months. Seeing the products (we have got) and the response we have received (at the Auto Expo), possibly the earlier we come out, the better response we will get (from the market)."
Kia Motors had showcased 16 vehicles at the Auto Expo 2018 from its global lineup. After noticing a tremendous response from the Indian buyers and business partners, Kia has started a survey to analyse what products should be launched in India in the next three to four years.
Apart from the Kia SP Concept compact SUV, the Korean automaker will also introduce a sub-4 metre SUV by 2020 and a premium hatchback which is also expected to enter the market by 2020. In total Kia will have three models in the mass market segment to drive high sales volume in the country. Kia is aiming to be among the top five automakers in India within three years of beginning its India operations.

The Kia SP Concept compact SUV was specifically designed for the Indian market, and it is an all-new model in the global lineup as well. The SP Concept will rival the segment-leader Hyundai Creta and also the Maruti S-Cross. But on the pricing, the SP compact SUV will come at a premium over its Indian rivals. The Kia SP Concept is expected to be launched in India by the mid-2019.
