India's First Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII Arrives In Chennai - Launch Details Revealed
India's first-ever 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom has arrived in the city of Chennai ahead of its launch later this month. The new Phantom is the eighth-generation version of the iconic Rolls-Royce limo.
India's first-ever Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII has arrived in the city of Chennai. The first-ever Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII for India was brought in off a container ship in the port of Chennai before being whisked away to the BMW KUN Exclusive dealership in the city.
The all-new 2018 Phantom is the eighth-generation of Rolls-Royce's flagship luxury sedan. As per the post of the BMW KUN dealership posts on Instagram, the all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII will be launched in India on February 22, 2018.
The images of India's first ever Rolls Royce Phantom VIII being unloaded at the dock in Chennai revealed also revealed the colour of the world's most well-known luxury car. The first Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII for India features dual tone white and blue paint scheme with the former being the main colour while the section surrounding the new monolithic grille is painted in a dark shade of blue.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII was unveiled to the world in late July 2017 and replace the highly praised Phantom VII, which found many admirers in India (for a list of famous Rolls-Royce owners in India click here).
The new Phantom VIII is based on an all-new platform which Rolls-Royce calls the Architecture of Luxury. This bespoke space frame architecture has allowed the new Phantom VIII from Rolls-Royce to be lighter and more rigid (by 30 percent) compared to its predecessor.
Powering the new Rolls-Royce Phantom is a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine which produces 563bhp and 900Nm of torque which is sent to the rear wheels via a ZF 8-Speed automatic gearbox. The new Phantom VIII sprints from 0-100kph in just 5.3 seconds.
The new Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII has stepped up the luxury game and provides more comfort and personalization options for owners than ever before. The new bespoke architecture allows for a more pliant ride and the interior is plusher than ever to ensure those inside feel nothing from the road surface below.
The new Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII now comes with a lot more technology with twin 12.3-inch displays replacing the previous car's instrument binnacle and infotainment display.
Also present is what Rolls-Royce calls 'The Gallery', a large glass panel on the dashboard which allows for three-dimensional artworks of various materials to be installed behind it. It will rather interesting to see what India's first-ever Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII owner decides to install here.
