Hyundai i30 Spotted Testing In India — Can We Expect Its Launch In India Soon?
The Hyundai i30 hatchback has been spied testing in India. The car has been spotted in Chennai and if launched in the country, will be placed between the i20 and the Creta offering in the brand's India line-up. Although, there is no official news regarding its launch in the country.
The spy images of the Hyundai i30 showcases the hatchback with ‘1.6D' badge. This indicates the 1.6-litre diesel engine on the i30. This is also the same engine seen on the Creta and the Verna offerings in India.
The Hyundai i30 follows the brand's fluidic sculpture design. The front fascia comes with a large hexagonal front grille, newly designed projector headlamps with LED DRL and horizontal split tail lamps as well.
The i30 hatchback comes loaded with features. Some of the features on the premium hatchback include electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, 17-inch alloy wheels, seven-airbags and hill assist control as well.
The car is already on sale in European and US markets. The international-spec Hyundai i30 is 4,340mm in length, 1,795mm in breadth and 1,455mm in height. The car has an overall kerb weight of 1,316kg. The engines used on the international spec of the premium hatchback, already comply with the Euro-VI norms.
If launched in the country, the Hyundai i30 is expected to carry forward the same engines as seen on the Creta and the Verna offerings. This includes a 1.6-litre petrol and diesel options. The petrol power unit will produce 121bhp and 151Nm of torque. The 1.6-litre diesel, on the other hand, will offer a power output of 126bhp and 260Nm of torque.
Thoughts On the Hyundai i30 in India
The Hyundai i30 is one of the more premium hatchback offerings from the Korean brand. If launched in India, the Hyundai i30 does not have any direct competition, however, it does come under the same category as the Volkswagen Polo GT and the Fiat Punto Abarth.
